Huayuan adds two prefecture-level labor service brands

Recently, four labor service brands like ‘Huayuan Embroiderer’ and four companies and associations such as Shibadong Miao Embroidery Culture Company have been recognized as prefecture-level labor service brands and construction units by the Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. In recent years, Huayuan County has implemented a training scheme to cultivate people’s skills, and created characteristic labor service brands such as “Huayuan Welder” and “Huayuan Embroiderer”, in a bid to improve people’s employment ability and income.

In order to learn about the Miao embroidery resources in the whole county, the department of human resources and social security of Huayuan County organized cadres to collect and collate information of Miao embroidery resources at Miao villages. 35 provincial, prefecture and county-level Miao embroidery inheritors have been identified and registered, with a total of over 6,500 people engaged in the Miao embroidery industry and related industries. Huayuan County invites provincial-level intangible cultural heritage inheritors to offer Miao embroidery skills training sessions at various training institutions and vocational high schools. As of now, a total of 2,801 embroidery women have been trained in the county, effectively promoting the inheritance and development of Miao embroidery skills.

Activities such as skills competitions, county-level cultural festivals, and Miao embroidery exhibitions are held to showcase the charm of Miao embroidery and enhance brand influence. The Miao embroidery industry is deeply integrated with rural tourism and cultural creativity industries to attract tourists to experience Miao embroidery culture and ethnic customs. Meanwhile, women are encouraged to start businesses, work nearby, and increase income by opening Miao embroidery workshops and online stores.
